Step-by-Step Purchase Guide

1. Finding Suppliers

Finding Suppliers

  • Google. The most direct way is through Google search, using keywords like Steel Structure, Steel Buildings, Metal buildings.
  • B2B. Through platforms like Alibaba International and Made-in-China.
  • Facebook. Search through social media platforms, either directly with keywords or by joining relevant groups.
  • Friend Recommendations. Manufacturers recommended by friends who have had satisfactory experiences are excellent choices.

Suppliers often post on multiple platforms, so you may find the same suppliers across different channels. Choose one method to search. If you need to visit the factory, please communicate with the supplier in advance.

2. Inquiry

Provide your requirements to the supplier. Common information includes dimensions, quantity, delivery time, and payment terms. The supplier will create preliminary CAD drawings (or you can provide your own) and calculate prices, delivery time, and payment terms. If designed by the supplier, this typically takes 3 days.

3. Counter-Offer

You can negotiate with the supplier on price, delivery time, payment terms, etc. If using FOB shipping terms, you'll need to arrange shipping or booking, and inform the supplier of vessel name, schedule, and loading location. If unfamiliar with these procedures, you can seek help from local freight forwarders or get recommendations from the supplier.

4. Acceptance & Signing the Contract

After finalizing all details, both parties sign a contract specifying rights and obligations, including product specifications, quantity, price, delivery time, payment terms, quality standards, and liability clauses.

5. Payment

If advance payment is required, the buyer makes the payment at this stage.

6. Structural Detail

The supplier will spend about a week creating structural details and confirming specifics with you. Larger projects may require more time.

7. Production

Production and customs declaration. If final payment is required, the supplier will ship only after receiving it.

8. Presentation of Documents

Transport The exporter (supplier) submits all documents including bill of lading, invoice, packing list, and insurance certificate to the importer (buyer) through bank or other means.

9. Taking Delivery

The importer (buyer) receives the goods from the shipping company or freight forwarder using the bill of lading, completing the transaction.

While there seem to be many steps, importing steel structure buildings from China is actually quite straightforward, as long as you have clear requirements.
